Who manages this website
The Nachu Estate website is administered by the site owner for the estate community initiative. An owners and residents association remains a proposal. Privacy and data requests can be submitted through Get involved by selecting Privacy or data request; responses appear in your private enquiry record.
Information we collect
Household applications store your first and last names, country, phone number, personal email, owner or resident relationship, optional plot and street details, a password hash and an account identifier. The administrator records a household reference and assigned estate email before activating member sign-in. Email addresses are self-declared; estate approval is a separate administrator review. Passwords are checked on the server and are not stored in plain text. Interest registration records the contact information, relationship to the estate, optional plot reference, plans and priorities you choose to provide. Enquiries store your message, reply contact, status, administrator responses and any optional photo attachment. Community participation includes your display name, posts, replies and reports.
How information is used
We use these records to coordinate participation, review membership, assign one estate email per household, respond to enquiries and operate community discussions. Public partnership enquiries store the contact name, organisation, email, optional phone, sector and message for private follow-up. Only uploaded logos of agreed partners selected by the administrator appear in the public partner carousel, with organisation names as accessible image text and optional website links. Your optional estate-update preference controls relevant in-site notifications. This website does not currently send automated email or WhatsApp messages. The Contact page links to WhatsApp; choosing that link opens WhatsApp, where you can send your message under that service’s privacy terms.
Who can see it
The administrator can review household applications, assigned email details, resident and partnership enquiries, moderation reports and operational records. Your registration contacts and private enquiry photos are not published in discussions. Approved community members can see discussion display names, posts and replies. Publicly published estate updates and gallery photographs are visible within the website’s configured audience.
Photos and consent
Upload only material you are entitled to share, with permission from identifiable people where appropriate. Keep identity documents, title deeds and sensitive security information out of photos and discussions. Design imagery expresses the estate vision; dated estate photographs document actual progress.
Choices and removal
With approved access, My participation lets you update or withdraw registration, remove enquiries, download your records and remove your website participation data. Withdrawal or participation removal ends member sign-in until the administrator approves it again. Removal of a discussion also removes its replies. Hosting records, backups and administrative audit information may follow separate operational retention arrangements; participation removal keeps your local login account. To remove the login account too, use Account security instead of withdrawing participation. External household mailboxes are managed separately by the estate administrator.
For correction, access, objections or other privacy questions, submit a Privacy or data request. You may also raise a concern with Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner through its official website.
Hosting and browser storage
The website stores records in the hosting account’s MySQL database and photos in its private file storage. Login is managed by this website using PHP sessions. The hosting provider may retain its own operational logs and backups. The site adds no advertising trackers or analytics tags. See the Cookie policy for essential sign-in storage and optional interface preferences.
Community standards
- Keep discussion focused on the improvement you would like to see.
- Respect neighbours and avoid harassment, personal attacks and unsupported accusations.
- Share another person’s private information only with permission.
- Report a concerning discussion using its Report control. The administrator can review, hide or close conversations and restrict member access.
- Use the appropriate emergency route for urgent situations. Website enquiries are for routine estate matters.
